We designed the Fund of the President of Ukraine (FPU) website as a modern, human-centered platform that communicates trust, energy, and inclusivity. Unlike traditional institutional sites, the new design embraces a vibrant editorial style, focusing on storytelling and action. Clear structure, bold visuals, and intuitive interactions make the platform both engaging and accessible for its diverse audience of young talents, partners, and donors.
Overview
As a UX/UI Designer at Qream Design Agency, I led the design of the Future Projects Ukraine (FPU) website—an ambitious government-backed initiative to support emerging Ukrainian talent. The goal was to step away from rigid, impersonal government aesthetics and instead create a dynamic and approachable digital presence that inspires confidence while resonating with the next generation of changemakers.
Goal
The project was guided by a few core goals:
Present the foundation as a trustworthy ally for talent and innovation
Differentiate FPU from traditional government and fundraising platforms
Inspire action through clarity and emotional resonance
Provide simple, intuitive pathways for donations and applications
Problem
The biggest challenge was avoiding the typical perception of a government-backed website: formal, sterile, and disconnected. FPU needed a forward-thinking platform that still maintained credibility but felt personal, energetic, and approachable. The balance between professional trustworthiness and youthful dynamism was at the core of the design challenge.
Process
Research & Problem Definition
We began by analyzing stakeholder input, audience needs, and similar initiatives. The main insight was clear: most government-backed platforms appeared too institutional and impersonal. FPU needed to break away from this pattern by feeling modern, human, and action-oriented, while still maintaining trust and credibility.
Competitive Analysis
We reviewed global fundraising and talent-support platforms to identify gaps and opportunities. While others focused on formality, few leveraged storytelling or editorial-style layouts—this became the foundation for our differentiation strategy.
Design Approach
Since the platform was designed from scratch, our focus was on crafting a unique digital experience that feels personal, energetic, and narrative-driven. To achieve this, we:
Chose a horizontal scrolling layout to create a storytelling flow, guiding users through the foundation’s mission and opportunities in a more immersive way
Designed editorial-style pages with expressive typography and bold color blocks
Used warm, authentic photography to emphasize people and real impact
Reflection
The FPU website redefined what a government-backed platform can look like. Instead of sterile formality, it delivers a living, breathing digital presence that feels modern, human, and full of energy. For me, the key takeaway was how thoughtful design can reshape perception—turning a government initiative into a personal ally for Ukraine’s creative future.
Guys did a great job of putting us in the light, and now we have a bright identity.
